To the people saying they’d rather fake suburb rappers over authentic rappers… you just don’t understand Rap. In other genres of music talent is mostly what separates the Great from the average. But in Hip Hop, authenticity and skill is what defines the genre. To have a suburban kid who’s never gone through the pain and trauma that comes with the ghetto, hood or low poverty lifestyle that many people are forced into by design, is a slap in the face of the people who truly wear those battle scars. It’s like some a civilian who’s never served in the military or army, trying to pass off as a veteran or wear the military uniforms or badge… I didn’t earn that, it’s somewhat disrespectful to the people who’s had to earn that badge of honor. Rap music often features themes of aspiration and storytelling, and some rappers may choose to depict a lifestyle or persona that is different from their own reality. This can be a form of artistic expression, storytelling, or a way to connect with their audience by sharing dreams and aspirations. Positivity does sell, it’s just that most rappers probably aren’t creative or talented enough to make it happen that way so they take the easier route. This conversation is really funny to me because I've been thinking about it for my entire life. Imma poor kid from Acres Homes (a very dangerous part of Houston), my dad was in and out of jail, and I was always surrounded by drug addicts, gang violence, and just a bunch of low vibrational energy (I was even jumped randomly at like 9 by some hs kids tryna rob me). I won't lie and say I didn't get influenced to be just like that when I was younger, but at some point in my life I realized that shit was stupid and I decided to take my education seriously so that I could help my family get out of this environment. Another piece of this whole equation is that, even when you're from that sort of environment, some people will follow, but others are just trying to survive. Just because you're from the hood, don't make you a street dude and I learned early on that sometimes its better to try to survive the environment and make it out rather then indulge in the environment. We still live here, but now I gotta college degree and when I make music, I typically try not to glorify the situations I've experienced, but just showcase what I've experienced and how that self destructive nature really isn't it at the end of the day. Great video man.
Its probably for the better why the underground isn't too deep in the streets, and most of them are suburban kids mostly blowing up from tiktok, which is probably better for the underground's future than people making out of the street and probably risking their life doing so

It’s almost like the powers that be are the ones promoting this narrative. A certain rapper got called anti semitic for speaking out against this a year ago.
I wish positivity would sell, because I have a lot of rap ideas myself and I have no idea if people would listen a message such as "go to the gym, let's read ten books I will meditate, and eat healthy foods". If this would sell prolly these rappers would sing about it, but instead is the same old "drugs, money, bitc*es, violence etc" .. this is why they stay stucked here in this box .. to fit in
Yo it’s just like the movies, actors don’t really live like they do in the movies in RL. Same thing for rappers, it’s for entertainment. Being from the suburbs doesn’t mean you “not like that”, just like being from the hood doesn’t mean you’re a gang member.
yes it fuckin does. very rarely are people from the suburbs growing up in broken homes like a lot of people in the hood and poor areas do
@@IIdankII it’s not that rare. There’s a lot of divorce and kids having to live with a man that isn’t their father. A moms boyfriend is not a father figure, a step dad is not a father figure either.
@@IIdankII also there’s kids that move to the suburbs from the hood, not everyone lived their whole life there
@@IIdankII most special forces soldiers are from the suburbs. Still more dangerous and skilled than any gang member
But do regular civilians get a pass to dress up as special force soldiers for the honor it comes with? They would get checked by real soldiers who had to endure what it took to be called that. So a soldier can be more dangerous then a gang member cool, they were trained to be, an authentic gang member 9/10 has gone through things a suburban kid hasn’t. That deserves respect as well. Being from the hood has struggles that have real life implications on people and who they are. It might just be words to you but man people really be F’d up in bad situations struggling to make it out with a lot of odds stacked up against them, that ish takes a toll mentally and by design, that’s whack just letting who ever imitate that struggle and benefit and compensate from that pain as if they went through it, so your missing the mark

Positivity does sell, it’s just that most rappers probably aren’t creative or talented enough to make it happen that way so they take the easier route. Kendrick and Cole are two of the biggest artists in the world, Chance is a positive rapper, so is Childish Gambino. Joey Badass is a talented artist, there’s tons of examples
Ice cube, dr dre, tupac, snoop were studio gangster they were never like that

This video is underrated
Yeat not acting like he's from the hood though
Bro acting like you have to be gang affiliated to own a gun
as long as yall support it it will continue to be popular
Its probably for the better why the underground isn't too deep in the streets, and most of them are suburban kids mostly blowing up from tiktok, which is probably better for the underground's future than people making out of the street and probably risking their life doing so
The production on did was insane u gon blow up soon
Damn good video
“Making it out of the suburbs” is CRAZY. 😭😭

This is an amazing video with an amazing message

U can’t say diddy was cappin in his raps
1. he didn’t even rap about violence like that he had a R&B cookout type of sound
2. Diddy really got mfs knocked off iykyk
No matter what nobody say bout em diddy really was onnat and lowkey still onnat
Where *IS* Diddy, just asking for a friend?
Yeah Diddy been in too many situations to be grouped in with the suburbanites. He might not be the toughest but he was def with that shit
i feel like a lot of artists get into the game with the idea that they want to be like these popular rappers and end up getting addicted to drugs and making bad decisions off them drugs
It’s almost like the powers that be are the ones promoting this narrative. A certain rapper got called anti semitic for speaking out against this a year ago.
uh no its cuz he said he liked hitler
I wish positivity would sell, because I have a lot of rap ideas myself and I have no idea if people would listen a message such as "go to the gym, let's read ten books
I will meditate, and eat healthy foods".
If this would sell prolly these rappers would sing about it, but instead is the same old "drugs, money, bitc*es, violence etc" .. this is why they stay stucked here in this box .. to fit in
I grew up in the suburbs but it was a small town and I saw real life bloods and my homies who slang btw are repping cs
Gangsta rap isn't going extinct, the problem is a lot of these gangsta rappers aren't street like that.
Yo it’s just like the movies, actors don’t really live like they do in the movies in RL. Same thing for rappers, it’s for entertainment. I just seen this movie yesterday “the running man” in the movie they show live violent entertainment and people were so excited about it. I feel like it’s the same thing.
big facts and this is why is seems the game is at a still point OVER SATURATED WITH INAUTHENTIC music
I mean we can sit here and talk anout how much positivity is needed but people who actually dedicate their lives to positivity and trying to do the right thing by humanity get stepped on and treated like morons in this world. I know from experience. Im at the point where all of the positivity has been drained out of me.
I mean look at what happened to Jesus. Doing the right thing in a world like this won't get you anything, and that's why everybody wants to hear about opps and percs

I’m just tired of seeing rappers ride the metal/punk/hardcore aesthetic, yet ain’t never been apart of the scene. If it’s genuine, keep rockin, but a lot of it seems poser asf

7:22 let me explain it to the ones who dont understand satanist believe in self worship and karma so he is displying their satanist shit like the upside down cross and the lord tattoo refers to satan remember lord can mean any lord and "god" can be any god too thats why he said he is a spiritual person and at the end of the clip of the interview he says he is the lord and he runs it displaying self worship
“This guys gangsta? His real names Clarence” Type shi🤣
you dont know none of these rappers or anything they been thru, how u gon say if someone street or not??
you made some valid points but you absolutely lost me at every mention of religious symbolism. who gives a fuck about what you wear or what you have written on you as long as at the end of the day youre a decent person. last i checked destroy lonely isnt a women beater, rapist, or any other type of weirdo so if these rappers want to check in with the fashion there is nothing wrong with that.
also you claim not to care about if these rappers are capping, yet the entire video is basically just dissing rappers who you think are capping. be honest with yourself and just say that you care too much about what other grown men do with their lives
I am from tha hood I used to be so pissed about not having a better upcoming
fuck wit the vid this aint the only thing i got from the video but you had me dead at low vibrational activity 😭💀
No wonder they aren’t saying anything in their raps. We have all tried to rap, probably wrote some bars maybe recorded a couple tracks but the reason a lot of us didn’t pursue being a rapper is because we’re not really interesting (& we’re the real ones for accepting reality). A lot of us wouldn’t feel right going into the booth singing straight lies & trying to sell it. Yeah it’s cool to make money but these new rappers definitely won’t last because there is nothing real about them. Autotune really ruined a genre.
How tf you hit every target but the biggest one “lil mabu”
