  • In this video, Biology Professor (Twitter: @DrWhitneyHolden) will cover the Catalase test procedure and discuss the background information to understand how this test works. Specifically, this diagnostic test indicates the presence of catalase in a bacterial culture. Catalase is an enzyme that catalyses the production of water and oxygen gas from hydrogen peroxide. It is used to differentiate catalase-positive bacteria, like staphylococci, from catalase-negative bacteria like streptococci.

It is a good one of a kind guide for get your original hair color back and look young without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy finally got cool results with it.

    Just wondering: as you stated, Catalase catalyses the production of water and oxygen gas from hydrogen peroxide. And since researchers have recently discovered that the main reason hair turns gray is hydrogen peroxide's "bleaching" effect on the follicle, some have theorized that taking a Catalase supplement might reduce enough hydrogen peroxide to stop its effect of causing hair to gray. Any thoughts on this, or experiments you've done (or know of) regarding this? I mainly wonder if an oral Catalase supplement can even make it into the bloodstream. Many thanks. My wife and I love your channel!

    • @BiologyProfessor
      @BiologyProfessor  6 лет назад +6

      I have also heard of the possibility of catalase being used in this way, but I don't know of any experiments to assess it. My hair is still nice and brown (I've actually never died it or even had highlights put in), but it would be cool to have an answer before I get old enough to go gray. ;) Thanks for watching!

    • @BiologyProfessor

      In this test, the catalase is made by the bacteria cells. If you are asking about consuming a supplement, I cannot recommend a dosage.
